The Area
Kata Beach is at the south end of Phuket Island and faces the west coast. Just to the south is Kata Noi (literally "little Kata") and just to the north is Karon Beach. There is plenty to do within walking distance - shops, restaurants, little pubs/bars. If you rent a car or motorbike or jump in a tuk-tuk, then you will find even more within 5-10 minutes drive including beautiful Nai Harn Beach, the local scene at Rawai Beach and the craziness of Patong (maybe more like 15 minutes drive from Orchidacea Resort).
The Resort
Formerly "Pop Cottage." Kata Beach is just accross the street.The resort is on a hill overlooking Kata Beach and the Andaman Sea. The staff are friendly and helpful. The resort restaurants offer Thai food and interantional dishes to satisfy guests from the world over.

I enjoyed with my family unforgettable holidays in a real charming Hotel, called Orchidacea Resort at Kata Beach, in Phuket! It is not luxury but clean and family-friendly Hotel with very friendly staff and efficient management. It is located on the hillside; 5 minutes walk to a wonderful beach only! The room rates and Restaurant-prices are well balanced. We have been very happy in that 3star plus Resort and hope we can go back one day again.
